Isobel Angus passed away at Rose Villa Long Term Care in Rosetown on November 22nd.  She was born in Saskatoon on March 5th, 1916, 3rd daughter of John D. and Bertha Murdoch.  Isobel was raised at Zealandia, Sask. where her father operated the local insurance and realty business.  In 1935 she married the ‘preacher’s son’, Layton Angus, and moved to Marriott, Sask. where they operated the Angus General Store.  During the years at Marriott they were blessed with 3 sons; Brian in 1938, Jack in 1940 and Jim in 1953.  In 1960 they sold the store and moved to Harris, Sask. where they ran the Post Office until 1974.  In addition to working at the Post Office, Isobel was also assistant Village Clerk working with Ben Kaiser in the early ‘60’s.  Isobel was an accomplished pianist and was the organist at the United Church for many years.  Besides the Sunday services, she played for many weddings and funerals.  Isobel was always involved in her community.  In addition to her involvement with the United Church, she was also the Editor of the Harris History book, a member of the Harris Museum Board for many years and was a fundraising group leader when the new Harris Arena was constructed.

Isobel is survived by her son Brian Angus of Thompson, Manitoba, son Jim (Brenda) Angus of Harris, Sask. and daughter- in-law Faye (Ed) Angus of Kamloops.   She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Ethel McElroy and Laura Hoge, husband Layton in 1981, son Jack in 1990 and daughter-in-law Dawn Angus in 2011.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rose Villa in Rosetown for their excellent care for Mom over the past number of years – they treat their residents like ‘family’!  Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations may be sent to the Harris and District Museum, Box 10, Harris, Sask.  S0L 1K0.

It saddened us to learn that Jim's Mother had died. Knowing Jim, we can only guess what a great lady she was. She did have a long active life but losing a loved one is never easy. We pray that the many memories you have of her will help to comfort all of you in the days & months ahead.
With love & our deepest sympathies, Dale & Jo
