Arloe "Maxine" ADAIR Obituary

Arlo Maxine Adair passed away peacefully with the love of all her family surrounding her on March 20, 2024, at the Rosetown Hospital. She was 104.

Maxine was born September 3, 1919, in Harris, SK, the only child to Ernest and Alice (Turnbull) Fuller. They had moved from Ontario to a homestead 5 miles south of Tessier, SK.  Maxine took her schooling at Tessier, SK. She enjoyed curling and skiing as school sports.

  Maxine married Morgan Adair Nov 29, 1939, and began her married life 3 miles north of Harris. They were blessed with 6 children (Gail, Terry Ernest, Dennis, Robin, and Bill). She raised turkeys, roosters, and hens for eggs and to feed her family.

 In 1947 they moved into Harris to Bryant Road so the children could attend school.  Maxine and Morgan moved into their new home on 3rd Ave in Harris in 1981.  They enjoyed square dancing and travelling.

Maxine lost her loving husband Morgan in April 1994, she continued to live in Harris until February 2013 when at the age of 94 she moved to Rosetown to McNab Place where she resided until her passing.

Maxine was an avid ball player and enjoyed being part of the Millionaires Women’s Ball team.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing, crafting, picking berries, gardening, and canning, baking, and cooking, playing cards and going to the Casino. Her hands were always busy. She belonged to New Horizon’s Club in Harris and the Harris Tessier United church. She taught sewing to the 4-H club.  Maxine was a loving and giving person and always had time for tea with her family and friends. She loved getting together with family for her New Year’s enchilada tradition.  Maxine loved nothing better than being with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren they gave her so much joy. She had 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren and step great- great grandchildren. She enjoyed her time living in McNab Place and made many wonderful friends there whom which she enjoyed sharing Bingo, coffee, shuffleboard, and cards.

Maxine is survived by her daughter Gail (Grant) Tyson, (Trevor, Tracy, Trina, and families); Daughter in Law Gail, (Dean, Rob, Teri Lynn, and families); son Ernie, (Devon and Angie and families); son Dennis (Faye) (Jason, Jody and Jillian and families); son Bill (Donna) (Steven, Curtis, Kim, and families).

Maxine was predeceased by her husband Morgan, son Robin, son Terry, daughter in law Mary, grandson in law Eugene and her parents Ernest and Alice and many other beloved family members.

Maxine will live in our hearts and memories forever, Forever Loved.

A Celebration of Maxine's Life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harris Community Centre.
