Art RENZ

Arthur "Art" Renz, beloved husband of Darleen Renz, father of Tammy and Tim Renz passed away peacefully on August 22, 2018 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 88 years.

Art was born on the family farm on June 16, 1930. Farming was in his blood. After he completed his schooling he worked for various neighbours and the Johnson Bros from Eston until acquiring some land of his own. It was Art’s teenage dream to own a small farm with animals, get married and have a family. That all came true when he married Darleen Wapple on July 11, 1958. They farmed in Glidden until they bought a farm in Milden in 1962. Their family was completed when they adopted twins Tammy and Tim at three months old in 1963. One of Art’s fondest memories was the day they brought home their twin babies. Art never retired, he ran a combine in his 80’s and the Oliver ’88 tractor this spring dragging the yard. In fact, he was out at the farm cutting grass two days before he suddenly took ill. He was a farm boy at heart. He loved his family, the farm life and all that came with it.

Art leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Darleen, daughter Tammy and son Tim; his brothers-in-law Arnold Wapple, Johnny (Sandra) Wapple and Nick Hertz, and sisters-in-law Sharon (Dan) Roberts, Susan Wapple and Freida Wapple as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Louisa Renz, his three older brothers Johnny, Ed and Walter and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law.

A Celebration of Art’s life was held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Shanidar Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Esau officiating.
