Fay Margaret Schneider (née Lougheed) of Rosetown passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 72 years.
Fay was born on April 14, 1945 in Regina, SK, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Helene Lougheed. She attended school at the Bellshill School at Greenwater Lake. Fay grew up on a dairy farm where her love of animals began. Pets were her constant companions including a pet lamb named Lambchop. Growing up near picturesque Greenwater Lake, Fay spent her summers as a lifeguard and continued to have a life-long love of swimming.
Fay worked in restaurants as a waitress and eventually used that experience to open her own restaurant in Major, SK. She finished off her career working in the Co-op cafeteria in Rosetown. Fay was a caring mother to her two daughters and six grandchildren sharing her love of gardening, cooking, animals, Disney movies, sports and music.
Fay was predeceased by her loving husband and soulmate, Murray Schneider. She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Schell (Trent) of Kamloops BC; Kim Piper (Curtis) of Calgary AB; her six grandchildren Nathan, Jasmine, Danielle, Brennan, Madison and Mason. Fay is survived by her friendly cat Boots.
Fay’s family and friends would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff of Rosetown Hospital for their care during her final days.
