Faye Edith (Whitmore) DOWIE

Faye Dowie, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27th, at the age of 65. Faye Dowie was born on November 7th, 1953 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan to Gordon and Isabel Whitmore. She grew up on a farm near Harris, Saskatchewan.  Faye attended Saskatoon Business College and upon graduation in 1972 was employed at the Royal Bank in Rosetown for several years. In 1973, Faye married to Dale, the love of her life. They lived on a farm outside of Zealandia. Once Dale and Faye had children, Faye made the choice to stay at home to raise their kids and work on the farm. She spent endless hours taking care of the farmyard (which included a small forest of trees) and working with Dale on the farm. Faye had three children who were all active in sports. As a result, she spent countless hours taxiing the kids to sporting events across Western Canada. She never missed anything that her kids participated in, and that dedication continued with her grandchildren. Faye lived a good life as a loving mother, a caring wife and an involved grandmother. She enjoyed time with her family, going to church and had a love for music.

Faye is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Dale of 45 years, her children Devrin Dowie (wife Leaha, sons Nathan, Luke, William and Jackson), Vanessa Dowie (husband Drew, daughters Alexa and Hailey), Colleen Barry (husband Jordan, daughters Mya and Kierah) and Faye’s sisters Joyce Skillingstad, Lorna Payne, Dorothy Ross, and Donna Jean Bursaw, as well as a host of loving in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service for Faye was held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Rosetown United Church at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Donations in memory of Faye may be directed to the Rosetown United Church, P.O. Box 506, Rosetown, SK, S0L 2V0.
