Gay loved taking care of her home, farming, driving the combine, gardening, working with livestock, attending church, participating in church activities, spending time with nieces, nephews and neighbours, reading and watching television and drama. Having built a home in Rosetown, Ross and Gay moved to town for the winter months. When Ross passed away in 1992, Gay continued to live in Rosetown.
She became close friends with Douglas Hunt, a bush pilot from Sovereign and they married in 1993. They continued farming, did a lot of travelling and enjoyed the Saskatchewan Flying Farmer’s activities. They sold the home in Rosetown and moved to Prairie View Heights condo. Douglas passed away in 2009. Gay continued to reside in the condo.
In the fall of 2017, Gay moved to Rose Villa where she enjoyed the various activities and the companionship of her new neighbours.
