It is with sadness the family of Hazel Fay Stevens announce her peaceful passing in the arms of her loving family and her loving husband and best friend Gordon Stevens of 62 years on the morning of Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in a little patch of sunshine from heaven.
Hazel was born on September 23, 1935 in the family farmhouse on SW Sec 12-Tp 33-Rge 11 W3rd at Tessier, SK where she remained for her entire life. Hazel took great pride in her home and her yard, spending countless hours beautifying for all to enjoy. Mom will be remembered for her caring and joyful personality, the love she had for her family and the community she called home and of course, for her homemade buns.
Hazel will be dearly missed by her loving husband Gordon of 62 years; her beloved cat Josie; son Rick (Holly) and their family Kevin (Janelle) and Kim (Dayne Iverson); daughter Cindy (Terry) Hymers and family Dallas (Shawna) and Mitch; son Jeff (Sheila) and their family Lee (Jessica) and Grayson, Lisa (Ryan Holfeld) and Jared (Kayla Long); sister June Millard and brother and sisters-in-law Terry (Linda) Stevens, Irv (Ruth) Stevens and Sharon Stevens.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry & Nellie Brown, her sister Joyce, her parents-in-law Les & Jewell Stevens, brothers-in-law Al Millard and Dale Stevens and friends Lucy and Myrna.
Hazel’s family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Rose Villa for their loving care and friendship.
Mom loved the casual life and in her remembrance, the family invites everyone to join them for a casual social gathering on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harris Community Centre. Memorial Donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the Rose Villa Activity Fund, P.O. Box 850, Rosetown, SK, S0L 2V0.
