Joseph "Bud" ROBSON Obituary

Joseph “Bud” George Robson passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Rose Villa at the age of 85 years. Bud was born on October 8, 1933 in Rosetown, the youngest son of Ethel and Clinton Robson and a brother to Doug, Grant and Ted Robson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eileen; daughter Myrna (Ken) Walker and son Brent (Jewell) Robson; grandchildren Laurel (Ian) Schafer, Dana (Bobby) Singbeil, Tyson Walker (Jordy Johnson), Austin Robson and Shivawn Robson; great-grandchildren Violet and Jett Schafer, Beau and Leo Singbeil, as well as a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Bud was predeceased by his grandson Derek Robson.

He took his schooling at Muirland and his grade 11 and 12 in Rosetown. After graduation, he took an agriculture course through the University of Saskatchewan. He was a member of the Muirland United Church during its existence. After University he spent two winters working in Ocean Falls at a Paper Mill and a winter in Vancouver building swimming pools before returning home to the family farm.

He married Eileen Hill in 1958 at the Rosetown United Church. They raised two children within the Muirland community. For extra income, he spent his winters doing carpentry work in the local area until hunting provided more. He continued to farm until Brent took over in 1988 and continued to stay involved in the farm by trucking grain up until this last fall.

Bud was an independent, hard-working and generous man. He was willing to help anyone at any time. He had great talent in designing and modifying equipment and telling stories. He loved the outdoors; spending his summers at the lake, falls and winters hunting and snowmobiling. He loved sports - track and field, ball, hockey, skiing, waterskiing, windsurfing and dirt biking.

He and Eileen also loved travelling, taking many family trips throughout the years and enjoying many winters in Corpus Christi in their retirement years. Bud had great pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by all.
