June was born in the Rosetown Hospital July 20, 1925. She lived on the farm at Fiske and attended school there. The family moved into Fiske after the death of her father when she was seven. After high school June attended Business College in Saskatoon.

In 1947 she married Earl Cummings. They started married life in Rosetown later moving to Calgary where she worked at The Bay. They relocated to North Battleford where June worked as cook and bookkeeper with Earl and his road crew for the Department of Highways. She enjoyed this time immensely as they travelled throughout Saskatchewan. She was also employed at Sears in North Battleford for many years. When they moved to Saskatoon she worked at Miller’s Flower Shop and then at Wallings. Later she moved back to Rosetown to help care for her mother. While living in Rosetown she worked for Home Care.
