Kathreen Elsie (Wiens) PETERS

Kathreen Peters, 95, of Beechy, SK passed away March 20, 2017 in Kyle Long Term Care Home, Kyle, SK.

Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Beechy United Church with Reverend Michelle Armstrong officiating. Luncheon to follow at the Beechy Community Hall. Donations in memory of Kathreen may be directed to Beechy Demaine Ambulance Service.

Kathreen was born in Russia to John and Nettie Wiens on March 1, 1922 and immigrated to Canada in 1924. She attended school at East Butte and Jonesville schools. Katie married Bill Peters in 1940 and they farmed in the Beechy area. She loved to travel and spent many winters in Mercedes, Texas. Katie spent a lot of time sewing, baking cookies, playing cards, crocheting, quilting, teaching 4H and helping others. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katie was predeceased by her husband Bill, her parents John and Nettie Wiens and all her brothers and sisters.

Katie is survived by her son Ron (Diane) Peters, and her daughter Merilyn (Glen) Grice; grandchildren Leah (Mark) Ringrose, Chad (Jodie) Peters, Shawn (Glenda) Grice, Wendy (Jamie) Smyth; great-grandchildren Mason Ringrose, Liam and Carson Peters, Cole and Ashley Grice, and Devin, Asher and Chadden Smyth
