Margaret "Peggy" Kathleen (Cockburn) AKINS

Margaret “Peggy” Tyson/Akins (née Cockburn) passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2020. She lived a full and happy life engaged with family and friends.

Peggy is survived by her two sons Dennis (Vicky) Tyson and family John (Nicole, Desiree & Raylin) and Brian (Jodie & Jayden); Doug (Kathy) Tyson and family Michelle (Cory, Dakota & Matthew) and Terry (Dana, Dylan & Aleyna); step-daughters Dawn Akins-Hicks (Jerry) and children Kali (Chris, Shea & Drew) and Keegan; Shelley Miazga (Brian); step-son Bill Akins (sons Dan & Mike); sister-in-law Margie (Tyson) McHale and sister and brother-in-law Dora and Doug Laurie as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces that have been a big part of her family. She was predeceased by her husband John Tyson and husband Cecil Akins, her parents William and Rachel Cockburn, brothers James Cockburn, George (Joyce) Cockburn and Arch Cockburn, sisters Vivian (Howard) Jacques and Marion (Don) Lawrence, in-laws Joe (Mary) Tyson, Ralph (Dorothy) Tyson, Ruth (Stan) Howard and Harold Tyson.

Due to the current restrictions, a private family graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Harris Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harris Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 124, Harris, SK, S0L 1K0 or to the Harris Community Centre, P.O. Box 124, Harris, SK, S0L 1K0.
