Norah Elsie (McFarlane) LONGWORTH

The family of Norah Longworth are saddened to announce her passing at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon on September 29, 2019. 

Norah was born to Arthur and Mary McFarlane on May 17, 1929 on the McFarlane homestead near Harris.  Norah went to school at Hillview and completed her education at Harris.  She worked at Birks Jewellers in Saskatoon, the Royal Bank in Rosetown and Eatonia and Woodwards Department Store in Vancouver.  Norah said Albert met her at the train when she returned from Vancouver and they were married on June 20, 1951.  Brian was born two years later, followed by Barry, Mary Lee, Sandra and Linda.  Norah was a member of the Harris Auxiliary Legion, Harris Museum Board, Eagle Creek Historical Society and Hillview Willing Workers. Nothing gave Norah more joy than caring for her children and especially her grand and great-grandchildren.  Her happiest times were spent with family.

Norah is survived by her children Brian, Barry (Karren), Mary Lee (Don) Sapsford, Sandra (Ken) Traynor, Linda (Lorne) Pincemin; grandchildren Rebecca, Shelby, Keri, Julie (James), Scott (Sherry), Corey (Brittany), Jeanelle (Dayton), Nicole, Mitchell (Samantha) and Brooke; great grandchildren Denton and Sam; siblings Edwin, Roy, Sarah and Carle (Heather) McFarlane; sisters-in-law Edna (James) Start, Margie McHale, Barbara (Ted) Rowan, Helen (Elio) Particelli and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Longworth, her granddaughter, Lacey Longworth, her parents Arthur and Mary McFarlane, brothers Tom and Wallace McFarlane, sister Mary Ellen Clayton, mother and father-in-law Mike and Margaret Longworth, in-laws Doreen McFarlane, Betty McFarlane, Donna McFarlane, Tom Clayton, William Longworth, Violet & Allan Campbell, Edith & Ward Clayton, Janet Longworth, Clarence & Marg Longworth, Elmer Longworth, Harold Tyson, Henry Sarich, Ted McHale, Alvin & Norma Longworth and Fred Parney.

A Family Interment was held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Harris Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 p.m. at the Harris Community Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harris Cemetery Fund c/o Village of Harris, P.O. Box 124, Harris, SK, S0L 1K0.
