Paul TATOMIR

Mr. Paul Tatomir beloved husband of Ila of Elrose passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the age of 85 at the Eston Health Centre.

Paul was born on November 3, 1932 at Mondou, SK to Stefan and Ksenia (née Pawnyk) Tatomir the fifth of sixteen children. He received his education at Mondou School before beginning his farming career on the family homestead. Paul was a farmer and he loved it. He and Ila Calwell were married October 19, 1963 and together operated a mixed farm raising cattle, horses, chickens, turkeys, cats and dogs.

Paul loved anything to do with food. He grew a garden, fished and hunted, loved to cook and always looked forward to the fall butchering.

As a result of being one of the eldest in the family, he looked after children his whole life. He was especially fond of the nieces and nephews and enjoyed their company, the more the better.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Ila; siblings Helen (Dave) Black of Abbotsford, BC, John (Donna) of Chilliwack, BC, Ted (Joan) of Elrose, Roy of Calgary, AB and James (Margaret) of Madden AB; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean Tatomir of Calgary, AB, Grant (Tena) Calwell of Strathroy, ON, Bob Calwell of Parksville, BC, Jim (Joyce) Calwell of Elrose, Ivan (Lori) Calwell of Blind Bay, BC, Pat Gulak of Lloydminster, AB, Ann McAfee of Fairmont, BC and Lorna Calwell of Chilliwack, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Ksenia Tatomir; siblings Henry, Joe, Annie, Mary, Lawrence, Leslie, Art, Julia, Kay and baby sister Elizabeth.

A Private Family Graveside Service was held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elrose Cemetery with Mr. James McNaughton officiating. A luncheon followed at the Elrose Uniplex.
