We are sad to announce the passing of Raymond Lavigne on July 9, 2019 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 86.
Ray was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Rose, brother Ed, sister Irene, brother-in-law Jake Stecyk, nephew Dan Stecyk, in-laws Jack and Inga Hannay, Jackie and Edgar McKercher and Mary Anne Kennon.
He leaves behind his wife Marg, children Bob (Donna), Ed (Bev), Brian (Paula), Dena (Gary McGratten) and Maurice (Roxane), 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Bob Hannay (Jean) and Garry Kennon, sister-in-law Jean Lavigne and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was born on May 26, 1933 in Edam, SK. At an early age, he moved to Rosetown with his family. He attended school at Albermile and St. Joseph’s Convent.
He found his passion early in life repairing vehicles which led to the building of Rosetown Paint and Body with his partner Don Ross until his retirement. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years. Later on, he enjoyed spending time with family at the Coteau Beach cottage. Ray was a volunteer fireman for 21 years.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St Theresa’s Parish in Rosetown, SK.
