Rodney passed away at the Kyle Health Centre on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Rodney is survived by his daughter Sarah (David) Remenda and granddaughters Mikayla and Danika and his son Robert (Kaylie) and grandson Rixten. He was predeceased by his parents Hazel and Vernon and sister Arlene. Rodney grew up and attended school in Elrose. After grade twelve, Rodney was an apprentice electrician at Rowley's Electric and attended Moose Jaw Tech where he became a journeyman electrician. In 1964, he ventured to Calgary and worked as an electrician in the winter months while farming in the summer months on the family farm. In 1971, Rodney began to farm full-time and made the move back to the family farm. Rodney was active in the community and enjoyed curling, playing and coaching hockey and was a member of the Lions Club. Rodney was a jack of all trades and spent lots of time at the Uniplex including designing and building the Uniplex's electric Zamboni. Rodney loved the farming life and even towards the end still was very interested in farming and looked forward to drives to the farm. Rodney spent his last twelve years living in the Kyle Health Centre where he enjoyed the staff and care he received.
A Memorial Service was held at the Elrose United Church on Thusday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Elrose Rec Board.
