Love shines brighter than the morning light; love shines brighter every day. Rosemarie was a blessing to everyone who knew her and we will miss her dearly. Rosemarie Lucienne Labrecque was born at the Rosetown Union Hospital on November 11, 1959. She passed away on October 24, 2018 at the age of 58.
She attended the Opportunity Shop at Walter Aseltine School for ten years which was the school for local people with disabilities. At age 17, Rosemarie moved to Waldheim, SK to live at the Mennonite Home staying for four years. From there she moved to a group home in Kindersley, SK and worked at the local workshop fluffing flowers for rooftop decoration ornaments on wedding vehicles.
In 2000, Rosemarie came home in the summer with pneumonia and diabetes. Leo and Georgette had moved into Rosetown from the farm and decided to bring Rosemarie home to live with them. Rosemarie worked at the Rosetown Wheatland Regional Centre until she retired this spring. She was always proud of her work and most of that time she worked shredding paper until the town recycling program took over.
In February, 2013, Rosemarie ended up in the hospital in Saskatoon with extremely low platelets, and a brain bleed. With the help of a team of several doctors, she eventually stabilized. She spent four months at RUH before being transferred to the Rosetown Health Centre. Rosemarie moved into Rose Villa when it opened in the fall of 2013. Rosemarie had diabetes, bi-polar and failing kidneys. She has been in renal failure for the past several years enduring a lot of pain. She lived out her final days at Rose Villa as the welcoming committee for the care home. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Rose Villa for the care and kindness extended to her.
Rosemarie is survived by her parents Leo and Georgette Labrecque of Rosetown; siblings Camil (Mary) of Elrose, Raymond of Rosetown, Suzanne (Darby Hueser) of Saskatoon and Lisa (Greg Ehrmantraut) of Saskatoon; nieces and nephews Justin Labrecque, Randy Labrecque, Danielle Schmidt (née Labrecque), Chantelle Labrecque, Matthew Labrecque, Erin Meetoos, Yvonne Hill, Christopher Hill, Angela Robock (née Hill), Jamie Labrecque, Antoine Labrecque, Samuel Labrecque, Amy Hamilton, James Hamilton and David Hamilton as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
