It is with sadness the family of Sarah Janet Clarke of Rosetown, SK announce her passing on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 88 years.
Sarah was born on July 18, 1929 in Eston to Margaret and Alexander Sutherland, the youngest of six children. She received her grade 12 in Zealandia and went to the Scott Business School in Saskatoon. She worked for a bank in Kindersley then moved to Rosetown to work at the Aseltine Law Office. She married James Clarke in 1950 and moved to the farm where they raised five children. In 1996, they moved to Rosetown.
Sarah was actively involved in the community working at the blood donor clinics, Ridpath Ladies Club, Eastern Star, Ladies Golf, Rosetown Kinettes, Rosetown Dance Club, curling and bridge clubs. She contributed to the arts culture of the community through her many interests including artwork, painting and quilting. She was a member of numerous musical groups including the Odds and Ends, the Silver Tones and the Fiddler’s.
Sarah is survived by her children and their families: daughter Pat (Larry) and their children Laura and Erin; daughter Kay (Tim) and their children Robert (Rhonda) [Jade, Alexandra, McKenzie], TJ and Sarah (Teddy) [Dane, Drew]; son Bill (Myra); son Rob (Kathleen) and their children Alex and Kassia; son Murray (Cheryl) and their children Mason, Spencer and Jayden; brother Jack; sister Jean and sister-in-law Margaret Elliott. She was predeceased by her husband James, granddaughter Tricia and sisters Peggy, Esther and Mabel.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown United Church with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Sarah may be made to STARS, Hangar 21, 2745 Airport Road, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 1M4.
