Ross was born March 24, 1938 in Eatonia, SK and was 81 years old at the time of his passing on April 4, 2019 at Rose Villa in Rosetown, SK.
Ross is lovingly remembered by his sisters Thelma MacDonald, Florence Jackson, Dorothy Robertson (Ken) and Alice Youngs; 24 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Lilah; his sister Margaret Palmer; brothers Gordon, Bill, Dick and Percy. Brothers and sisters-in-law John Palmer, Bob MacDonald, Harry Jackson, Clare Youngs, Phyllis Hayes and Laviah Hayes; and great-niece Justine Potratz.
Ross was the youngest of ten children – five girls and five boys. He was raised on the family farm northwest of LaPorte and attended Bailey School. He spent several winters in northern Alberta working in the oil patch. He moved to the Elrose area when he was 28, and continued to farm at LaPorte and Elrose until 1992.
Ross liked to be around horses and participated in team roping and wagon treks. Things were always more fun when he was around. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with the Happy Wanderers for many years.
Ross continued to be a people person and radiated much joy to all those around him throughout his life. He will be greatly missed. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Orange Memories and Rose Villa for the love and support given so freely.
A Celebration of Life for Ross was held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown Alliance Church, 1002 6th Street East, Rosetown, SK. The interment followed at the Eatonia & District Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ross may be made to the Elrose Volunteer Fire Department & Ambulance, P.O.
