Timothy "Tim" John RENZ

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that family and friends of Timothy 'Tim" John Renz announce his passing on October 16th, 2018 at the age of 55 years.

Tim was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on April 8th, 1963. Tim may have entered the world first but he did not enter the world alone as his twin sister Tammy quickly followed. At three months old, Tim and Tammy were adopted by Darleen and Art Renz.

Tim’s first love was always his family with farming coming a very close second.  Tim grew up on the family farm near Milden, Saskatchewan and this would be his home for the majority of his life.  There he learned how to farm, fix anything that needed fixing and tend the land as only a person born to be a farmer knows how. Tim also had several off farm jobs which included working for the Canadian Wheat Pool and SaskEnergy.  As well, Tim received his ticket in refrigeration and air conditioning.

Tim had a voracious appetite for reading which fueled his quick wit and vast knowledge of many diverse topics.  He was also very good at any hobby or sport he decided to pick up. He won many awards in curling, hockey, volleyball, slow-pitch, tractor pulling and arm wrestling throughout the years.

The friendships that Tim cultivated over the years were also very important to him and he was a fierce and loyal friend. Tim also had a love for animals and provided kind and loving homes to many pets over the years. Two very special furry companions in his later years were OJ and Batgirl.

Tim had a “bigger than life” personality which left a big footprint on the hearts of those he met during his short life. He will be forever lovingly remembered by his mother, Darleen and his sister, Tammy. Tim is also survived by his uncles Arnold Wapple, Johnny (Sandra) Wapple, Nick Hertz and aunts Sharon (Dan) Roberts, Susan Wapple and Freida Wapple as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his father Art Renz; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Louisa Renz; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Olive Wapple; uncles Johnny Renz, Ed Renz, Walter Renz, Fred Wapple, Pat Wapple, Mel Wapple and aunt Patricia Hertz.

A celebration of Tim’s life was held at the Elks Hall located at #816 – Hwy 4, Rosetown, Saskatchewan on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 beginning at 2:00pm. Darleen and Tammy would ask that any stories and/or remembrances of Tim be written down and brought to the celebration of life or mailed to P.O. Box 1953, Rosetown, Sask., S0L 2V0.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorial donations be given to Prairie Pooches Rescue, P.O. Box 159, Cando, Sask., S0K 0V0
