William "Bill" McNALLY Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of William “Bill” McNally at the Rosetown & District Health Centre on October 8, 2018 at the age of 87.

His is lovingly remembered by Helen, his wife of 61 years; son Glenn (Char), their children Carol (Graeme) and Ray (Jaycee); daughter Lynn and her children Meagan and Ashley; sisters-in-law Lois McNally and Iris Thompson and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Lillian; brother Ken; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Gladys Lambden and brother-in-law George Thompson.

Bill was born on March 29, 1931 in Rosetown and grew up in the Muirland district.  After finishing school, he worked for farmers and in the oilfields before he began farming in 1954.  In 1957, he married Helen Lambden who was a teacher at the Muirland School.  In those early farming years Bill also did telephone line repair work and he was a 4-H Club leader.  Bill and Helen were true partners, working the fields and gardens together, creating a happy home and raising their two children Glenn and Lynn.  Through the years, Bill served on the board of the United Grain Growers, was a councillor for the RM of Marriott and was active in both the Muirland and Rosetown United Churches.  Although he and Helen moved from the farm to Rosetown in 1995, Bill remained actively involved in farming until his passing.  He also enjoyed wood working as a hobby and created many memorable pieces for family.

Bill was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and a good friend.  He was hardworking, funny and incredibly proud of his family.  He took time to play games, listen to and tell stories and teach skills.  He was never too busy to just be a wonderful Husband, Dad and Grandpa.  We are incredibly lucky to have loved him and to have been loved by him.
