Alexander "Field" McFAULL Jr. Obituary

Field was born March 9, 1954 at Milden, Saskatchewan, the fourth child and first son to parents Shirley (née Robertson) and Field McFaull. Field lived his 67 years on the family farm at Zealandia. He farmed for over half a century on the family farm that had been homesteaded by his grandfather, Alexander Field McFaull Sr. in 1916.

Field was a generous, kind man to family, friends and neighbours. He had an abiding love for animals, be they family pets, strays or injured wildlife that found their way into his yard. Animals or people, it didn’t matter, Field would never hesitate to help those who came to him in need.

Always “one of the kids”, a couple of generations of nieces and nephews enjoyed visits with Uncle Field. From rides in his collection of army vehicles, and firetrucks to fireworks displays for family gatherings, to the biggest, mountainous snow forts in the winter, Field always had time for the youngest family members which earned Uncle Field a special place in their hearts.

Field is survived by his sister Sandra (Patrick) Leith; brother Kelly (Karen) McFaull; sister Erin McFaull Ross (Todd Ross); brother-in-law Wesley (Verena) Jamieson; nephew Ryan (Jessica) Leith -- children Samantha and Cadence; nephew Rory (Amber) Leith – children Conor and Cailynn; niece Jenna Leith; niece Kelsey Jamieson (Danny Monk) – children Pia and Jye; nephew Joel (Dani) Jamieson – children Sammy and Matty; nephew Spencer (Nicola) Jamieson – children Lucas and Ethan; nephew Kendall McFaull (Alyssa Dobler); niece Kristina (Regan) Camrud; aunt Marj Robertson; aunt Cec Robertson and numerous cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister Susan (1985); mother Shirley (2005); sister Debbie (2005); father Field (2010) and uncle Robbie Robertson (2017).

At Field’s request, there will be no formal service. A small family gathering of remembrance will be held privately.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Abbas, his colleagues and nurses at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic for their compassion, dedication and care. Thank you to the Home Care nurses for their frequent visits which allowed Field to stay at home through his illness. Thank you to Rosetown District Health Care nursing staff for the around the clock excellent care and compassion, you are truly angels of mercy.

Donations in memory of Field may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Rosetown Branch #66, P.O. Box 1083, Rosetown, SK, S0L 2V0.
