It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be terribly missed by her whole family and many friends.
Alice was born in Lydden, SK (Duperow) on March 21, 1930. They then moved to Bents and after her Dad became sick, they moved to Valley Centre where she worked for Hruskas General Store. After her Father passed, her and her Mom moved to Rosetown where Alice quit school and started work with Canada Packers. She met the love of her life before leaving Valley Centre and once they had moved to Rosetown the courtship started and her and James Bertolo were married on April 18, 1949.
They were blessed with three children, Linda, Jimmie and Bob. Through the years Alice worked for Belwards Lady Wear, Rosetown Bakery, Co-op Food Store, sold Avon Products and janitorial services at St. Theresa's Parish. She was a Lifetime Member of the Royal Purple and CWL. She then moved on with volunteering, spending 16 years with the Rosetown Housing Authority, delivered Meals on Wheels, organized Boy Scout suppers and worked at the Thrift Store right up until last week.
Alice was predeceased by her husband James Bertolo in 2015, son Jimmie in 1971, her mother Josephine, her father Adam, granddaughter Vanessa in 2019 and several siblings, family and friends.
Left to mourn are her daughter Linda (Gary) and their sons Jamie (Monica), grandchildren Kendalynn, Isaac, William, and son David, grandchildren Layton and Logan; and her son Bob (Jill) & Brett.
A private family Vigil of Prayer and Mass of Christian Burial will be held. A video of both services will be available to view early next week.
