Allan "DeWayne" HANSON

llan DeWayne Hanson was born on March 7, 1937 in Bromhead SK and passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023 at the age of 86.

DeWayne left the world much as he lived in it - quietly, peacefully and with little fuss. His words may have been few, but his impact on his family was large. A kind and simple man who never wanted for much, nor did he ask much of others.

DeWayne married the love of his life Sharon Anne Mosses in 1965, and they raised their 3 children mainly in Inuvik and Zealandia. David (Debbie) Hanson, Dean (Kristi) Hanson and Darla (Mark) Vaughan.

DeWayne and Anne have 7 grandchildren, Mathew (Cassidy), Mitchell (Shaylynn), Danielle (Nick), Megan (Luke), Wyatt (Kirstyn), Craig and Kyle. They also have 3 great-grandchildren, Parker Vaughan, Rayah Hanson, and Tyler Balks.

DeWayne is survived by his sisters Shirley (David) Lidbury, Verna Paul and brothers Wes (Linda) Hanson and Merlin (Nita) Hanson as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Oliver & Gladys Hanson, his wife Anne, brother Harvey and sister-in-law Janet, brother Don and sister-in-law Gladys, and brother-in-law Brian Paul

Dewayne was a helicopter pilot for almost 50 years and loved to fly. His love for flying started at a young age and he owned an airplane before he owned a car! If you ever got the chance to talk to him about flying, he would light up.

He will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will all miss him tremendously.
