Anne Stella (Zielinski) BECHARD

It is with sadness and with joy that we say goodbye to Anne Bechard on January 25, 2023 at Orange Memories in Rosetown.

Anne  was born June 18, 1930 on the family farm near Mikado Saskatchewan to Peter and Stella (nee Dzuba) Zielinski.

Anne attended Verdant Valley Elementary in Mikado and Canora High School.

She went on to St. Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg, graduating as a Registered Nurse. Anne moved to Rosetown in 1954 to nurse at the hospital. 

Although she said she would never marry a farmer or a Frenchman, she did both!  Anne & Denis Bechard were married October 24, 1955. 

Together they raised 3 daughters and a son.

Of the many passions Anne had, her grandchildren were always number one.  Throughout her life many received the fruits of her talents, which included gardening, knitting, crocheting, baking and quilting.

Anne retired from nursing in 1993 but continued to be active in the community caring for anyone who needed her help along the way. Anne and Denis spent many winters with friends in Yuma, Arizona. 

Anne was an active and original member of the Rosetown Red Cross Creations Group.

She also was on the health board and an active member of St. Theresa’s CWL.

Anne’s faith was precious to her and sustained her through many hardships. 

Left to treasure her life and cherish her memories are husband Denis and children  Marie (Steve) Knutson Eston, Saskatchewan.  Rita (Brent) Clark Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Arnold (Laura) Bechard, Calgary Alberta and Michelle (Danny) Vigneron, Campbell River BC.

Anne was blessed with 17 grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Denise, Jeannine, Steven Knutson

Krista, Kylie, Trevor & Tanner Clark

Gillian, Jocelyn, Lauren, Colin Bechard

Erica, David, Anthony Vigneron, Noah Gardner.

She leaves behind 14 great grandchildren.

Anne is survived by sisters Helen McDonnell, Mary Zielinski, Glory Bugera (Joe),  

sister in laws Isabelle Zielinski, and Charline Martin.

She is predeceased by her parents Stella and Peter, her grandson Christopher Knutson, 

5 brothers: Michael, Bill, John, Alfred and Dmetro,  2 sister in laws Elsie & Gloria and brother in law Bill Martin.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Parish in Rosetown, SK with Reverend Father Habila presiding.
