Arlen Gerald OLSON

 It is with great sadness the family of Arlen Gerald Olson announce his passing at Rose Villa, in Rosetown, Sk. on April 16, 2025 at the age of 60 years. Arlen was born to Gerald and Dorothy-Ann Olson on December 27, 1964 in Dodsland Sk, the third child in our family of four.

 Arlen attended school in Plenty, Sk and after graduation took carpentry at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. Returning home, he farmed with his Dad and brother Ole for 40 plus years. Arlen always appreciated family and community. During the challenges that cancer threw at him, Arlen noted that a bright side of the experience was an even greater appreciation of the kindness of family, friends and community.

 Arlen had a memory and inquisitive intellect that never ceased to amaze us. He was a very thoughtful person, taking time to pick the perfect gift or card for each person, whether serious or humorous it was always from the heart. In the words of Arlen’s friends, “Arlen was a quiet, smart and sweet person.” We all enjoyed his great sense of humor.

 Arlen was predeceased by his father, Gerald Olson in August of 2019; Grandparents Ole and Violet Olson, August and Anna Schultz; all his uncles and aunts except for three and several cousins.

 Arlen is survived by his mother Dorothy-Ann Olson; brother Ole Olson (Val), sister Sylvia Frechette (Tim); brother Harley Olson; Nieces and Nephews and their families; Erik Olson (Maggie), Janelle Brown (Michael), Darcy Frechette (Shelly), Elise Mutch (Taylor) and many cousins, Uncle Dale Schultz (Lin) and Aunt Annabel Frank.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Arlen’s name.

We would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the Rosetown & District Health Centre, St. Paul’s Hospital, RUH, City Hospital, Rose Villa and Shanidar Funeral Services for the exceptional care. To our friends, wonderful neighbors, family and community, thank you for the support and kindness, including visits, food, flowers, condolences, phone calls, texts, cards and more throughout Arlen’s journey.
