Arlene SLOCOMBE Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Arlene Jeannette Slocombe announces her passing on August 17, 2025, at Rose Villa in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.

Arlene was born on January 15, 1959, in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, and was raised on the family farm. She grew up with her four siblings, and her favorite horse, Dawn, was a big part of her childhood. Arlene's days began with milking the cows, but she was always eager to start a new adventure. She was a strong-willed and hardworking woman who raised her two daughters while putting herself through school and working full-time.

Arlene was an avid reader who loved playing cards, dancing, and visiting with family and friends. Her hands were rarely still, as she enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was always on the lookout for a great deal, making her a frequent and well-known visitor at local thrift shops. Arlene was also an active member of her community, participating in the Legion, the Bells and Bows square dancing group, local 20/20 group and a local slow-pitch team.

Arlene is survived by her loving husband Larry Slocombe and her children: Christina Chemney (Mike Chemney), Laura Harden (Joseph Braat) and Kristie Lipinski (Ross Lipinski). She was a cherished grandmother to Robert, Lesley, Jordon, Claeton, Rayne, Oliver, Mark, Ashliegh, Rebecca, Sara and Jacob and had numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Larry, Bev, Ken, Brian, Cairin and Ed, Nelda and Mac and Barb as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Arlene had many great friends including Audrey, Mary Anne, Winnie, Bernice and her new friend Verna.

She was predeceased by her parents Bud and Betty Morrow, and her in-laws Violet and Stan Slocombe.

A Celebration of Arlene's life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Czech Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Arlene's memory may be made to the Wheatland Regional Centre, P.O. Box 1540, Rosetown, SK, S0L 2V0.
