Arlene Marie (Loftsgard) WARREN

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Arlene Marie (Loftsgard) Warren on the 12th of June 2026 at the age of 87.  

Arlene was born in Kyle on the 8th of July 1938. She was eldest child of Bjarne Loftsgard and Elise (Dyrland) Loftsgard. She was raised on a farm near Kyle and spent her early school years moving between Kyle in the summer and Burnaby in the winter. She married Clive Hogue in 1957, and they had two children Todd and Dean. She initially worked in the bank in Kyle, and over the years worked in different banking and administration positions as well as working for Weekender which she greatly enjoyed. Much of her early adult life was spent moving where she lived across several cities in western Canada and spent some time in Alaska. After separation, she moved to Calgary and settled for many happy years with a range of friends and interesting activities. During this time, she met Ed Warren, whom she was with for over thirty years. She really enjoyed traveling and went on many wonderful trips England to visit her grandchildren as well as Portugal, Alaska and several other places. On retirement she returned to live in Kyle with Ed. She would often say she was never so happy as when she was back on the prairies. She was a proud member of AA for over 50 years where she drew great strength and provided much support for others.

Arlene is predeceased by her parents Bjarne and Elise, her brother Paul and sister Rita as well as by her son Dean and life partner Ed. She is succeeded by her sister Sandra, son Todd; two grandchildren Rebecca and Joshua along with 5 great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Gabriel, Jonah, Albertine and Norah.

A celebration of Arlene’s life will be held at the Elks Hall in Kyle at 11 am on Wednesday 15th July 2026.
