It is with great sadness the family of Betty Ann Rollheiser late of Saskatoon, SK announce her passing on December 3, 2022 at St Angela Merici Residence at the age of 86.
Betty Ann Irene Doll was born on December 30, 1935 on the family farm at Hodgeville to Isidore and Elizabeth (née Heembrock) Doll. She went to school at Fremworth Manor until grade 8, then took grade 9 by correspondence then went to the Gravelbourg Cornet for grade 10 and took grade 11 in Hodgeville. She went to work at the Bank of Montreal in Swift Current and while she was working there, she met Gerald (Jerry) Shasko. She moved to Saskatoon and then worked at the Main Branch and transferred over to 20th Street Branch when it opened. On May 7, 1955 they were married.
On September 12, 1955 Fred was born and in November 1955, they moved to Rosetown, SK. While living there, Betty Ann became a member of the Rosetown CWL & the Rosetown Kinette Club. On September 9, 1957, Deborah Grace was born, on April 26, 1959 Stanley (Stan) Isidore was born, on June 21, 1961 Alvin Gerald was born and on May 27, 1964 Brenda Marie was born. On February 14, 1965, they moved to Wynyard, there Betty Ann was active with St Mary’s Parish in the CWL & other activities.
In 1970, Betty Ann started working at the Bank of Montreal in Wynyard. In July 1978, they moved to Vegreville, Alberta where Betty Ann went to work at the Bank of Montreal until 1988. She was involved at St Mary’s Church in the CWL and also did some bowling. After her husband Jerry passed away in December of 1986, she started dating Tony Rollheiser of Rosetown, in July of 1988 she moved to Rosetown and on September 10, 1988 they were married. They started traveling on bus trips and many cruises seeing lots of interesting places.
Betty Ann loved to bake her own bread and buns, cookies, canning, homemade noodles all over the house, all these years. Betty Ann did a lot of crocheting, knitting, sewing and embroidery, she loved to garden and have lots of flowers until she couldn’t look after them.
Betty Ann made lots of friends throughout and drank lots of coffee over the years in Wynyard, Vegreville and Rosetown.
In 2021, Betty Ann was diagnosed with having Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. She went for chemo treatments and was feeling better, then Tony started having health problems and in July 2022, Tony passed away.
There were so many changes in such a short time, she decided to move to St Angela Merici Residence in Saskatoon, sold the house and went on to the next venture. Betty Ann really enjoyed the last two months being at St Angela Merici. Betty Ann touched many hearts while she was there and they touched hers.
Betty Ann is survived by sons Fred (Fiona) and Stan (Dennis), daughter Brenda (Don) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brother Gary (Carol), sister Berniece and sister-in-law Bertha. She was predeceased by her husbands Tony in July 2022 and Gerald in 1986, son Alvin, daughter Debbie, parents Isidore and Elizabeth Doll, sister Florence (Walt), brothers Larry, Norbert (Shirley) and Jerome (Anita) and brother-in-law Bernie.
The Vigil of Prayer was held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Theresa's Parish, Rosetown, SK and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Parish, Rosetown, SK with Reverend Father Habila Musa and Reverend Father Kevin McGee co-celebrating.
