Bonnie DESJARLAIS Obituary

Bonnie Denise Desjarlais (née Armstrong) of Harris, Saskatchewan was called home to Heaven on March 14, 2022.

Bonnie was born in Chilliwack, British Columbia on March 10, 1959 to Robert and Frances Armstrong. Bonnie was the youngest of six and thrived on the attention from her brothers and sisters. Bonnie’s family made their way east when she was just four years old and settled in Regina, Saskatchewan where she eventually met her husband, Wayne. Regina was where Bonnie spent most of her time until moving to Saskatoon and then eventually settling in Harris, where she was surrounded by Wayne, her son Garry, and many grandchildren. Family was extremely important to Bonnie and no matter how far apart she was from family, she made sure to keep in touch with everyone.

Bonnie’s light shone the brightest while she was talking about her husband, children, grandchildren and cat Leo. Bonnie loved watching her grandchildren grow and tried to attend as many events as possible to cheer them on. Bonnie was also a devoted Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and could also be seen holding more than a tune in a karaoke bar while singing any Patsy Cline song.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Wayne, two sons: Garry (Laurie) Armstrong and Matthew Armstrong, three step-daughters: Amber Rostad, Cynthia Rostad and Jessica Rostad, eleven grandchildren: Mackenzie, Brandon, Jessica, Alexandra and Ethan Armstrong, Taelor and Kennedy Schuler, Jayda and Whittaker Armstrong, Philip Sparkes and Cullen Silliphant, sisters: Margaret Gurash and Debbie Schikowsky, extended family: Judith Grad, Wendy Huggins and Camryn Fast, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Robert Armstrong and Frances Reddick, sister Patricia Gurash and brothers: Ken Armstrong and Richard Armstrong.

Bonnie will be missed dearly, “Even though she is not with us in body, we can feel her spirit and love”. “She came, she loved, she left safe in the arms of Jesus”.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
