David Turner passed away at the Lucky Lake Health Centre on December 15, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born in Nelson, B.C. to George and Gladys Turner, the youngest of four children. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Prentice and her four boys Norman (Gloria, Brian (Patty), Boyd and Darren (Wanda) and their families. Also surviving are his daughter DeAnna Turner, sisters Francis Townsend and Joyce Dowsett (Jim) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-law Gerald Townsend and brother George Turner.
Dave was an outdoorsman, he spent many years hunting in remote areas, flying in by plane and setting up camp. He got many different animals, some of which are on display in The Eagle Plains Hotel up by the Artic Circle, which he managed a few winters so the owner could have time off. When Dave wasn’t hunting, he was an electrician by trade, along with having his refrigeration certification.
