Don was born to Bill and Helga Anderson in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan on November 12,1941. After graduating grade 12, Don attended Teachers College in Saskatoon and graduated in 1961. His first school of employment was in Northern Saskatchewan and he later moved to the south and taught in the Piapot area.
In 1967 Don moved to the town of Estevan, where he retired on June 30, 1991. After his retirement Don decided to move back to Dinsmore where his parents had moved after retiring from farming!
Don was an ardent sports fan; the Toronto Blue Jays were his choice of all teams. He made one trip to Toronto to see his team play his favorite sport!
In 2001 after both of his parents had passed away, Don made the move to Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed many years there, but as the years were adding up he moved to Elrose, Saskatchewan to be near his sister Florence Rowley and her family.
Don passed away on July 17, 2025. A Graveside Service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dinsmore Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Dinsmore Seniors Hall.
