Dorothy HERSBERGER Obituary

Dorothy Hersberger passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

She was predeceased by her husband Craig and is survived by sons Gordon (Jean), Alan (Alva) children Denise & Jody Tondell (Saige, Payton) Heather Hersberger and daughter (Adalynn), Lorne Hersberger & Lisa Schrader {Emma} and daughter Eileen (Delmer) Janz, children Craig {Winter}, Patricia & Mike {Aya}, Sherri {Gage} and sister-in-Law Kay Bell. Later in life she married Georges Cousineau and lived for a time in Hudson, Quebec and Milden. Georges passed away in 2008.

Dorothy lived a long and successful life. Her homemade apple pies and buns were prize winners at the Bounty Fair. She rejoined the workforce in her early thirties which culminated in a very long and successful career at SaskTel in Saskatoon. Following her retirement in 1986 she and Craig moved back to Milden to spend their days enjoying the peaceful landscape and renewing old friendships. They especially enjoyed their summer camping adventures at Greig Lake in Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Mom loved to travel to numerous places south of the border as well as Hong Kong and Denmark.

Mom became a member of what was fondly referred to as the “Milden Golden Girls” (Lorraine, Suzie, Karen, Ruth & Barb). The “Girls” enjoyed friendship, fun and most of all laughter.

Dorothy moved to Outlook, SK in 2013 where she lived until her final move to Rose Villa in Rosetown, SK in 2022

Our special thanks to Murray and Heather Bell for all of their kindness and help over Mom’s last years and to Brian and Elaine Domes for their visits with cookies and sips of Wiser’s Special Blend.  Also, thanks to all the staff at Rose Villa for their special care and support of Mom.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milden Community Hall.
