Douglas TAYLOR Obituary

Douglas George Taylor of Elrose, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 73.

Doug was born in 1952 in Oxbow, Saskatchewan. Over the years he became known as a hardworking, skilled mechanic and someone who could fix just about anything. He dedicated 23 years working as a mechanic with Western Sales in Rosetown and Elrose. He later worked for Copeland Seeds for 10 years as a mechanic, continuing to do the work he loved. Doug also worked for the RM of Monet near Elrose, operating a grader for 10 years.

Doug had a true passion for working with his hands. He especially enjoyed tinkering with small engines and spending time with snowmobiles and motorcycles. When he wasn’t in the shop, Doug could often be found outdoors enjoying hunting and fishing. He also loved hockey and enjoyed watching his son play over the years, as well as cheering on his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Valerie Taylor; his son, Ryan Taylor and daughter-in-law Melissa Taylor; and his cherished grandchildren, Riley, Carter, and Levi, who brought him great pride and joy. Doug is also survived by his brother Bob (Linda) Taylor and his sisters Linda (Stan) McFarlane and Norma (Ray) McDonald; his brothers-in-law Victor (Colleen) Trayhorne and Cecil (Doris) Trayhorne; and his sister-in-law Barb (Darren) Smid, along with many extended family members and friends.

Doug will be remembered for his mechanical skill, his strong work ethic, and the quiet way he showed his love for family and the things he enjoyed most.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
