It is with sadness the family of Eleanor Seib announce her passing on March 26, 2022 at the age of 86 years.
Eleanor was born on May 31, 1935 at the homestead on the SW 2-28-21 W2, southwest of Semans, SK. Mom was the first born to Alec and Amilda Drescher. She was joined later with 6 more brothers and sisters. Mom attended school until Grade 9 then worked for a neighbor helping with cooking, housekeeping and their children. Later working at the Red and White grocery store in Govan, SK.
In October, 1957 she married Roger Seib (divorced in 1991) and they moved to Rosetown where mom got a job with the Royal Bank from 1960 – 1979 as Branch Administrator. They had two children, Sheila born in 1964 and Clairon born in 1966. When retired from banking, she later started babysitting in her home for quite a few years. She worked at the Rosetown Golf Course old clubhouse for nine years, Janitor at the Rosetown Civic Centre and RCMP Detachment, cleaned houses, delivered Meals on Wheels, worked summers at the Tea House and then at Shop Easy Foods until her health prevented her from doing so.
Mom planted a large garden and then was busy canning and blanching. She loved to crochet, cross-stitch pillow cases and dresser scarves, quilting and she was good at sewing.
Mom loved her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. There was always some sort of baking or goodies at grandma’s house. Mom was hard working, generous and caring, always willing to step in and lend a helping hand. She enjoyed talking with others and took time for a visit on the street or in the grocery store.
She was a member of the Leona Rebekah Lodge for 40 years holding office as Secretary and was President of the Rebekah Assembly of Saskatchewan in 2007, and a member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW).
Eleanor is survived by her children Sheila (Ewen) Cole of Rosetown, SK and Clairon (Jo-Anne) Seib of Yorkton, SK; special friend and companion David Saville of Rosetown, SK.; grandchildren Britteny (Chris) Hansen of Strathmore, AB, Brayden Seib of Yorkton and Dylan Cole of Coleville; great-grandchildren Noah Hansen and Amelia Hansen; brothers Arnold (Faye) Drescher of Semans, SK, Edna (Ken) Serfling of Nokomis, SK; sister Alice Drescher of Edmonton, AB; nieces and nephews Jason, Darcy, Michelle, Charlene, Kevin, Bryan, Kent, Shayne, Leandra, Brenda, Melanie, Craig, Curtis, Sheldon and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Alec and Amilda Drescher; niece Shannon Drescher; sister Elaine Chamberlin; brothers Albert (Marion) Drescher and Herman (Sharon) Drescher.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa's Parish, Rosetown, SK with Reverend Lauren Miller officiating. A recording of the service is available below.
