Elma Irene (Joki) FACCA

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, grandma and great grandma Elma Irene Facca on June 18, 2025 at the age of 97.

          Mom was born on August 20, 1927 to John and Aino Joki and grew up on the farm south of Dinsmore with her sister and three brothers. In 1948 she married Ferry Facca, and they had a mixed farming operation south of Wiseton. A family of 11 children was born to them and Mom kept busy with farming, church, school and community activities. After Ferry’s passing in 1978 Mom continued farming with the help of her sons Gary and Greg. In 2008 she moved to Rosetown and in 2020 to Heritage Manor in Kindersley,

          Mom was an avid reader, knitter, painter and Blue Jays fan and was always up for a game of scrabble or bingo with family and friends. Her children and then grandchildren kept her busy travelling far and wide to attend graduations, weddings and sporting events.

          Left to cherish her memory are her children Lois, Gary (Linda), Kathie, Suzanne, Denise (Rob), Greg (Cindy), and Jackie along with 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren: sister in laws Margaret Joki, and Rita Joki  as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Ferry; her parents John and Aino Joki; children, Christopher, Elizabeth, Robert and Julie; grandchildren Chris and Lindsay; sister Eila Annala; brothers Tauno, Peter(Grace) and Elmer Joki; Ferry’s siblings Lena (Jim) Mazzei, Mario, Ferro (Sue) and Gardner (Rose) Facca
