Esther May Chapman (née Hunt) passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the age of 98 years; six days shy of her 99th birthday.
Esther was born at Plato, SK on April 19, 1922. She was the youngest of four girls born to Albert and Rosa Hunt. Esther married Jack Chapman on July 4, 1942. Jack and Esther resided at various places throughout Saskatchewan; Mossbank, Delisle, Viscount, Mont Nebo, Perdue and Rosetown.
Esther is survived by four of her five children. Her son John (Jack) and Leona of Rosetown and their children; Chris (Debbie) and their family; Lori (Mike) Niccolls and their family; and Susan. Her daughter Bertha (Ron) Kaiser of Swift Current and their children; Rose Winsley and her children and Angel (Morgan) Ulph and their son. Her daughter Louise (Ron) Schwartz of Moose Jaw and their sons; Justin and Joel (Saralyn) and their family. Daughter-in-law Rita of Calgary, AB and her children Jessie (Lona) and daughter; Jennifer and partner Sean. Her daughter Margaret (Ryan) Schwartz of Swift Current and their children; Heather (Michael) Kolbeck and their children; Curtis (Ashley) and their children. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Esther had 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Esther was predeceased by her parents Albert and Rosa Hunt, her husband Jack in 1998, her son James Albert (Jim) in 2018 and her three sisters, Mildred Keith, Gertrude Drennan and Alice Benson and their spouses.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Esther’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elrose Health Centre Auxiliary, P.O. Box 593, Elrose, SK, S0L 0Z0.
