Frances Lillian Davis
October 13, 1928 - July 7, 2024
Mom finally got her wish on the morning of July 7, 2024, she went home. Mom was born on October 13, 1928 at Mrs. Masons Maternity Home in Swift Current, SK to Ben Stull and Ida (Mickelson) Stull. She attended Pittville School north of Hazlet and West Gap School at Mondou. Later she attended Marvel School of Beauty in Saskatoon. Shortly after school she met a handsome rancher named Gordon Davis. They married on July 27, 1949 in White Bear SK. To this union five children were born - Dolly, Sandy, Carol, Jim and Tammy. To date, Mom and Dad have 14 grandchildren and 24 greats. Mom had no siblings but considered her first cousin Inez as her sister. Their first home was the bunkhouse on the 3-then moving up to the historic log cabin. The next would be a home Dad moved in from Eston. I think Mom thought she then had died and gone to heaven…running water, a complete bathroom and wringer washer. Their home was always a hub of activity, Sunday was especially busy, people out for a drive along the river ending up at her table. She was a cook and entertainer. She had a strong faith, attending the United Church in Lacadena where she sang in the choir, helped with children’s programs and UCW. Mom was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star for many years. She helped take a youth group to Expo which she very much enjoyed. Mom moved to a home in Kyle after the passing of Dad. Working as a florist for 20 years in Swift, before retiring in a senior’s apartment in Kyle.
A Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Eston Legion Hall.
