Gordon STEVENS Obituary

It is with sadness in our hearts that we share the news of the passing of our Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, Gordon Alexander Stevens. On November 5, 2021 he went into the loving arms of our Mom, Hazel Stevens. We can picture them now sharing a coffee together, catching up and talking about the farm and family.

Dad was born in Harris, Saskatchewan on October 13, 1935. He attended school at Glenhurst, Tessier and Rosetown and then the College of Agriculture at University of Saskatchewan. His passion has always been hockey, he enjoyed this sport throughout his childhood and was proud to be part of the Huskie program at the U of S.

Dad married his high-school sweetheart, Hazel Brown on April 21, 1956. He was a man who loved his family, his farm, his community and of course hockey. It was his good fortune to live virtually his entire life in the community that he loved – Tessier. He made friends easily, from far and wide, spanning many generations.

He is survived by his children Rick (Holly) and their family Kevin (Janelle) child Hazel, Kim (Ben); daughter Cindy (Terry) Hymers and family Dallas (Shawna) children Beckham and Madden, Mitch (Katy); son Jeff (Sheila) and their family Lee (Jessica) children Grayson and Kaia, Lisa (Ryan) children Cooper and Halle, Jared (Kayla); his brothers Irvin (Ruth) and Terry (Linda), his sisters-in-law June Millard and Sharon Stevens, his special friends the Johnson family and of course, the “Senate”.

Our family extends an invitation to join us for a casual Social Gathering at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Harris Community Centre. We respect everyone’s personal choices, however, we ask if you are not fully vaccinated for Covid-19 that you please send your condolences via email, text message, card or phone call. Wearing a mask will be encouraged.

Dad’s whole life was the farm, and in his remembrance please wear your jeans (and/or favourite hockey sweater), remembering too that John Deere Green is dad’s favourite color. Dad also loved a great story, especially if it was funny, so please bring a story to share with us if you are able too.

Donations to the Tessier Cemetery gratefully accepted P.O. Box 36, Tessier, SK, S0L3G0.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
