It is with great sadness that the family of Hazel Kidd announce her passing in the early morning of November 25, 2019 at 98 years of age. Mom was born on the family farm near Ardath, SK on April 4, 1921.
Hazel is survived by Ross (Kathy), Lois (Mike), Barry (Judy), grandchildren Shane, Warren, Colleen (Shawn), Christopher, Suzanne (Shane), Angela (Tim), Curtis (Pam) and Micheal (Amanda), nine great-grandchildren, sisters Shirley and Myrna (Cliff) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Allan, sisters Beth, Mary, Edna and their husbands, two infant brothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Hilliard, Harold, Frank, Hadden, Art, Eva, Elsie, Mary, Edith, Bertha and their spouses.
Mom grew up on the family farm near Ardath and taught school at Glenn Eagle, Bare Hills, Haddington and Zealandia where she met dad. They were married on November 2, 1944 until dad’s passing on October 1, 2006. Mom enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and kept active in many of the local activities. She was a member of the Zealandia United Church, UCW and various other community groups.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Zealandia Cemetery. A video of the service will be available to view on this page sometime the following week.
