Jean Marie Millar was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 27, 1935 to Walter and Anna Grocholski. Jean grew up in various communities in Manitoba and Saskatchewan as her father worked for the CNR. Their final move was to McGee Saskatchewan where many lifelong friendships were made. She worked as a dental assistant in Rosetown and in Saskatoon. Jean and Murray met while attending St. Theresa’s Parish in Rosetown. They were married at St. Theresa’s on June 11, 1960 and made their home in Fiske, Saskatchewan. Donna Marie was born on June 16, 1961 and Teresa Jean arrived to complete their family on November 24, 1964.
Murray and Jean worked side by side at the family business Millar's General Store. They worked well together, not just in the store but in the community, their church, in their marriage and as parents. Thanks for setting the bar high and being great examples for us.
Jean’s faith, her family and the community of Fiske were very important to her. When dad battled cancer, it was decided that they must make the move to Rosetown. It wasn't a decision they made lightly, Mom had big tears at the thought of leaving the people that supported them for many years.
