Katherine Christina (Seymour) OLSON

It is with sadness that the family of Katherine Christina Olson announce her passing at Rose Villa on December 6, 2024 just two days shy of her 85th birthday. Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Carla (Darrell) Bourgette, Darcy (Theresa) Olson and Nadine Olson. Her grandchildren Brodie (Nicole) Bourgette, Nicole (Matt) Dunlap, Conrad (Jordyn) Olson, Preston Olson. Her great-grandchildren Hailie and Layne Bourgette, Olivia and Ewan Dunlap, Hudson and Sophie Olson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband Dale Olson, brother John Seymour, sister and brother in-law Lois and Hilton Rousell and her niece Colleen Peters.

Katherine was born on December 8, 1939 and was the youngest daughter of Henry and Jean Seymour. She married Dale Olson in 1958 and they farmed in the Rowena district and raised their three children. Katherine was an integral part of the farming operation. She loved to garden, was a great cook, excellent truck driver and Dale’s helping hand.

Katherine and Dale retired and moved off the farm to Rosetown. They continued to enjoy many years of square and round dancing. They travelled the province and made many friends along the way.

Katherine loved time spent with friends and family. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great source of pride and she cherished every moment with them.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rose Villa for their care and compassion during Katherine’s stay.
