Kenneth Percy Martindale passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024 at Rose Villa at the age of 91 years.
Ken was born December 18, 1932 to Percy and Mona Martindale in the North East Rural Municipality of Dundurn, SK. He was the fourth of a family of ten siblings. Ken was raised on a small family farm which taught him about animals and farming activities and encouraged him for his future of being a farmhand until he retired and beyond. Ken was a “Jack of all trades, but had papers for none”. Ken went to Pleasant Point Country School where he met his future wife Joyce Pryor and they were married on March 21, 1957 at Bradwell United Church in Bradwell, SK. Their first job together was for the summer season near Rosetown, SK. After that, there was a variety of seasonal jobs on farms until they were expecting their first child and they decided it was time for a full-time farm job. They had two full-time farm jobs before they came to Milden, SK in December of 1969. They got their own home in 1974 where they have remained ever since, raising their four children: Patricia, Alvin, Daniel and Ruth. They are all married and there are nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his remaining siblings Vernon, Faye and Garnett. He was predeceased by his daughter Ruth, Patricia’s son John Lewis, his parents as well as six siblings: Roderick, Cyril, Beatrice, Stewart, Wayne and Maurine.
The family would like to thank Rose Villa of Rosetown for the care Ken received in the last two months of his life.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milden Alliance Church, Milden, SK.
