Laine Marshall ANDERSON

It is with sadness the family of Laine Anderson announce his passing on February 13, 2022 at the age of 68 years.

Laine was born on July 14, 1953 and raised on the family farm at Rosetown, SK. He was involved with minor hockey in Rosetown, playing on the Juvenile team winning provincials. After finishing minor hockey, he played with the Rosetown Red Wings. Laine loved the outdoors - hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing he was building his second ice fishing hut just prior to his passing. He and Claudia just purchased a lot and trailer unit at Turtle Lake last summer. It was his dream to own a quiet lot at the lake which they finally acquired.

Gruff on the outside, soft on the inside and always the joker - always there to lend a helping hand. Laine was always a phone call away to assist with a helping hand. After retiring from RM 288, he helped on the farm with seeding, harvesting and livestock. He really enjoyed the conveniences of a more modern combine - especially the autosteer once he caught on to it.

Laine loved animals and they loved him back - especially cats and dogs. He would adopt abandoned animals giving them care and attention. His work at Spring Valley Feedlot plus growing up with cattle made him especially helpful working cattle.

Another constant in Laine’s life was Claudia. Laine and Claudia grew a bountiful garden each year which he loved to brag about - especially having the first new potatoes. They bought their acreage, developed it and were in the process of doing the same at the lake.

Laine is survived by Claudia and boys Mark and Michael, brothers Grant (Brenda) and family and Gregg (Diane) and family as well as numerous nephews and grand nephews and nieces and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Shanidar Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Interment to follow in the Rosetown Cemetery.
