Larry CLOSS Obituary

It is with profound grief and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Larry Harold Closs on August 31, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

Larry Harold Closs was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan to Harold & Velma Closs.  He was their precious baby boy and a little brother to Marliss who completed the little family of four.  Larry was an easy going and happy boy who grew up to know how to have fun and cause a little mischief.

Larry knew Lynda from their school days, but it wasn’t until sometime in 1971 that he realized she was the love of his life and after a quick courtship, they married on October 9, 1971.  Together they had quite the ride and share a lot of great memories with a lot of great friends.

On June 21, 1974 they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Lana. Lana aka “Tiger” brought a lot of fire to the family and was the apple of her dad’s eye.

On November 11, 1976, they completed their family when they welcomed their bouncing baby boy, Lee.  Lee grew up to be his dad’s best friend and took over the family farm.

Lana brought a lot of joy to Larry’s life and gave him one of the biggest gifts of all, a grandson.  Larry loved to show Easton the ropes and was the first person to teach Easton to drive.

Larry’s passion in life was farming alongside his son Lee, and of course doing books.  Larry loved his numbers and always had a sharp pencil.  There wasn’t a day that went by where Larry didn’t check in on Lee, whether it was to talk about the weather, farming or where Lee put the receipt.

When Larry wasn’t farming or being a grandpa, him and Lynda would head down south for the winter months to beat the cold.  He loved happy hour with friends, playing washer toss, a little bit of golf….he even managed two holes in one.

Larry was a generous, thoughtful, kind, and selfless man.  He enjoyed being a member of the Elks Lodge, helping out with the Elks hockey club and was a huge part of building the new sports centre.

Left to mourn this incredible loss are his devoted wife Lynda Closs, his beloved daughter Lana Reddekopp (Nelson), his best friend and son Lee Closs (Dara), his cherished grandson Easton Reddekopp, his step-grandchildren Shadow & Cassidy Reddekopp, his precious grandpuppy Maci, his sister Marliss Edgar and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and so, so many friends and people whose lives he touched.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Harold & Velma Closs, mother & father in-law Les and Irene Fox, his brother-in-law Jimmy Edgar, brother-in-law Bob Hampton, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marj and Bob Maalerud and brother in-law- Donald Fox.
