Leonard Longtin
July 10, 1957 – December 5, 2025
In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard Longtin on December 5, 2025, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
Leonard was the youngest of five children born to Herve and Ida Longtin and was raised on the family farm between Admiral and Cadillac, SK. He always enjoyed farm life and being outdoors—whether doing chores, working cattle, cutting hay, fixing fences, or, in later years, mowing grass and riding his quad along the cut lines
Leonard loved playing baseball, coaching his daughter’s fastball team, fishing, camping, watching Blue Jays games, and everything about his family but especially grandchildren.
Leonard moved to Calgary in the late 1970s and attended SAIT, where he earned his automotive mechanic’s licence. Leonard and Cathy were married in 1980 and have three daughters:
• Kristin and Ryan Fortier, and their children Ethan and Emily
• Michelle and Justin Reiter, and their children Renee and Katrina
• Kendall and Josh Litschko, and their daughter Sydney
In 1997, Leonard and Cathy moved to Rosetown, SK, where they purchased a tire business. The store, originally named Rosetown Tire and Auto Centre, later became one of the first Kal Tire Associate stores in Saskatchewan.
In 2014, Leonard sold the shop and retired, but he continued to stay busy with many outdoor projects. In recent years, he devoted much of his time to the property he and Cathy purchased near a lake in central Alberta.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Rosetown Elks Hall.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit (Saskatoon, SK) or STARS Ambulance.
