It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie Ashmore (née Oliver) on January 9, 2019 at the Rosetown and District Health Centre at the age of 42 years.
Lisa was born on September 25, 1976 in Saskatoon to Philip Oliver and Frances Johnson. Lisa moved to Rosetown with her family in 1979 where she attended school graduating from Rosetown Central High School in 1994. Lisa continued her education at Olds College in Alberta.
After completing school, she moved to Saskatoon where she worked in retail sales for two years before moving to the Yukon Territory. While working in Teslin, Lisa met the love of her life, Tim Ashmore. They moved to Dawson City where Lisa found her calling as a mother upon the birth of their first child, Braedan in 2004. Lisa and Tim welcomed their second child Josalyn in 2007 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Upon Tim’s retirement, the family relocated to Rosetown in 2013. Lisa was very pleased to be back in Rosetown with family and friends. Lisa became very active in the community readily volunteering in the many activities her children participated in. Lisa also shared her love for children by working as an educational assistant at both RCHS and Walter Aseltine School.
Lisa was diagnosed with cancer in November 2016. She met this battle bravely with her positive attitude and infectious smile. Throughout her illness she maintained her passion for her family attending events and activities. She continued to spend time at the family cabin during summer and shared her love of life with everyone she came in contact with.
