Lorraine Marilyn MASEAR

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, aunt and friend, Lorraine Marilyn Masear on November 14, 2023.

Lorraine was born in Milden, Saskatchewan on April 25, 1938.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Guy (Susan), Tracey (Todd), her brothers Ralph (Lynn), Larry, Lyle (Shirley) and sister Lynn (Jerry) also by her grandchildren Kenji (Janny), Josh, Keira and Rees as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was predeceased by her father Raymond, mother Marion, sister Sharon and sister-in-law Adele (Larry). 

Lorraine grew up in Milden and her happiest of times were spent skating, playing piano and accordion. These were passions that she participated in most of her life.

She moved to BC where she married and started her family. Then back to Saskatoon where this family grew.

She was a well-organized home maker who took in many post-secondary student boarders. She truly enjoyed these years with all the young people in the home. Outside work life included a career as a licenced hairdresser, receptionist, bank employee, hospital ward clerk and many volunteer roles.  

Never one to sit down too long, she took up square dancing, travelling with dear friends and cross-country skiing where the laughter always considerably outweighed the skiing.

Lorraine will be remembered for her big welcoming heart and her great hugs. If you held her hand, she would rub her thumb in a circle to let you know how precious that moment was for her. 

She truly loved connecting to people. Family, friends, or a stranger on a bus. It didn’t matter. She had time for them all.

Please join the family in her memory at Milden United Church, Milden, SK at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 21st. A light lunch and refreshments will follow.
