Luc LABRECQUE Obituary

It is with sadness the family of Luc Labrecque announce his passing on May 9, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Luc was born in Rosetown on August 28, 1937. He was raised in Rosetown and after completing his grade school education, attended University in the program of Vocational Agriculture. After university, Luc started farming in Rosetown with his three brothers and father. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Kathy Domney and together they started their own family farm west of Rosetown where Luc continued to learn the farming life while being mentored by Bill and Phyllis Sim and his father-in-law Bill Domney. Luc and Kathy were blessed with three children and they raised their family on the farm. Luc was a farmer at heart, his love of the land was evident and he was proud that he, Kathy and their family spent much of their lives together there.

Luc enjoyed sports, such as badminton, family camping trips, fishing, building houses with Murray and Tony, woodworking, watching kids grow through 4H, dancing and hockey. Luc was a happy-go-lucky man who loved to go for his coffee visits, A&W buddy burgers and having desserts. He was patient, independent, creative, hardworking and loving dad - he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Luc will be deeply missed by his wife Kathy Labrecque; children Donna deGooijer (Ron), Tanya Labrecque (Cameron) and Jason Labrecque (Lindsay); grandchildren Kaitlin deGooijer, Nick deGooijer, Brianna deGooijer, Leah deGooijer, Hailey Labrecque and Spencer Labrecque; siblings Alfred Labrecque (Carol), Sister Alice Labrecque, Leo Labrecque (Georgette), Lucille Nawrocki (Orest) and Adele L’Heureux (Marcel). He was predeceased by his sisters Monique Bouclin, Rose Labrecque, Beatrice Beaudry, Louise Beaudry, Sister Ilda Labrecque, baby Theresa Labrecque and brother Ernest Labrecque.

A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Theresa’s Parish, Rosetown, SK at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Habila Musa celebrating. Donations in memory of Luc may be directed to a charity of choice.
