Margaret LEFAIVRE Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Margaret Rose Lefaivre passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023 at the age of 89.

Marg was born in Rosetown, SK on May 12, 1934 to David and Isabel Bradshaw, the ninth of ten children. Marg’s early years were spent growing up just North of Rosetown town limits in the family house which remains there today. She attended school in town and always had a long, cold walk home in the winter. In 1950, she moved to Cloverdale, B.C. where she worked for a short time at Gerlach's Rock, Gas and Appliances initially and then trained to be a telephone operator. She worked in Cloverdale until March 1951 when she returned to Rosetown and continued her career as a telephone operator for three and half years.

On October 26, 1954 Marg married the love of her life, Jack Lefaivre and life began in the small house on the family farm.  In 1972 they moved into the homestead farmhouse raising their family of six over 52 years of marriage. Marg worked hard in the early years of marriage on the family farm loving every single day. Once her youngest flew from the nest she worked for two years off the farm as a front desk clerk at the Motor Inn.  She loved meeting all the new people.  Family was the center of Marg’s life, and she took the most pleasure in being a housewife and mother.  Jack passed away on November 9, 2006 and a few years later Marg moved to a condo in Rosetown, later to Orange Memories and then Rose Villa.

She loved to dance! She and Jack spent many Friday and Saturday nights touring around to various small-town dances and carrying-on until the wee hours of the morning. She was an unbelievable baker, and it must be noted that the cookie jar by the microwave was always full of homemade cookies and was a staple when you went to visit. She was an avid reader and loved gardening. It is also notable that Marg was extremely fashionable. She was always perfectly dressed with her hair done, jewellery on and of course wearing lipstick. She was not one to draw attention to herself, but she loved and lived life to the fullest. She was a kind, courteous, gracious and one of the most comfortable and easy people to be around.

Marg leaves a very large family to fondly cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, Donna (Laurie) Waite and family Mitchell (Aline), Hailey, Charlotte and Keith, Karla Cowie (Rod) Sloane, Remi, Scarlett and Landan; Bill (Lori) Lefaivre and family Megan and Navy, Braydon (Paige), Lennon and Lola, and Blayke (Raylene), Pyper and Wynter; Deb Welsh and family Brodie (Tracy), Aven, Kallecia and Owen, Mike Lefaivre; Keri Lefaivre; Roxan Foursha, David Foursha (Tana), Tayler and Elayne; brother Bill Bradshaw (Sandi) and sister-in-law, Eunice Bradshaw.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack Lefaivre; daughter Wendy Foursha, granddaughters Jacey Welsh and Kylie Waite, her parents, numerous siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
