Our Family wishes to announce the passing of Margaret Watkins on December 16, 2020 at the Rose Villa at the age of 88 years.
Mom is survived by her children Beverly, Rhonda (David), Merna and Connie (John) as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 2008.
Mom was born on March 27, 1932 in Rosetown, SK. After spending time in Winnipeg and Milden, Mom came back to Herschel and she and Dad were married in 1952. As they started their life together as farmers, church and community were an integral part of Mom’s life. She was involved in many organizations such as the UCW, Homemakers and teaching Sunday School at the Wartime Church. After moving to Rosetown, Mom continued to volunteer with pastoral care with the United Church and Fowl Suppers. Mom was never too busy to lend a hand where needed or engage in a rousing discussion in politics. She spent a great deal of time volunteering in politics and if anyone was uncertain how to vote she would certainly be willing to offer an opinion.
We wish to offer our deepest appreciation and thanks to the nurses, doctors and caregivers for the care and dignity provided to mom during her stay at Rose Villa. Mom was proof that you do not have to remember everything to be happy.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no service will be held at this time.
In Margaret’s memory, please be kind to someone, reach out or visit a shut in or long-term care resident, Volunteer in your community…just tell them Margaret sent you.
